Louisville’s Craft Beer Scene

One of the things Louisville is well known for is its thriving craft beer scene. There are many local breweries to visit but below are ten great ones to start with.

Against the Grain Brewery and Public House is a great brewery to start with an atmosphere reminiscent of “Cheers.” Gravely Brewing Co. offers the La Manma Mexican lager, a crowd favorite, along with delicious Mexican food to fill your stomach. Falls City Brewing Co. opened business back in 1905 and has continued to satisfy its customers with a wonderful selection of craft beers ever since.

Another splendid Louisville brewery to head to is Akasha Brewing Company located in the NuLu neighborhood and well known for its Akasha IPA and Sour Akasha. Monnik Beer Co. is a stylish brewery that is visited by both locals and visitors quite regularly. Its beers are all Belgian-style, including the tripels, sours, and saisons. When it comes to Atrium Brewery, no one can beat its wide selection of food choices–from quesadillas to fish and chips–that pair well with its variety in beers.

Mile Wide Beer Co. is another can’t-miss brewery to visit when you’re in Louisville with its flagship beer, the West Sixth IPA, and their seasonal specialities receiving praise from patrons. TEN20 Craft Brewery offers their top-knotch Storyteller IPA in their spacious taproom while Butchertown Brewing Company serves a fantastic Imperial Gluten-Free Mango-Colada Sour in their cozy, intimate brewery. Lastly is Noble Funk Brewing Company that specializes in sour beers and farmhouse ales. Customers love their buffalo chicken and pulled pork BBQ pizzas, which rivals those of Mile Wide.

Each Louisville brewery has their own unique vibe and offerings that make them great, so we recommend visiting more than one when you’re in town!
