As tofu is made from soy, it is jam-packed with natural compounds named isoflavones. What these are are pretty strong antioxidants that fight the free radicals within your body.
Free radicals are essentially compounds that will cause harm if there are too many of them within the body and can lead to pretty significant and deadly health risks such as cancers and heart disease. Therefore, you can understand why it’s important to consume antioxidants as part of your diet!
It can aid menopausal symptoms
The isoflavones in tofu are also useful for aiding menopausal symptoms. They are often referred to as phyto-oestrogens, which essentially means that they mimic a weak form of the hormone oestrogen, which many women find helps with symptoms such as mood swings and hot flushes when going through menopause.
Supports heart health
